Sleep Problems and Caffeine

Sleep problems cannot be cured by drinking cup after cup after cup of black coffee.  Coffee, a common morning stimulant, is OK to consume when it’s done in moderation.  However, over consumption of caffeine rich items, such as coffee, can lead to some annoying side effects that can actually decrease someone’s productivity throughout the day.

Having a Late Bedtime Can Be Harmful to Your Health

Staying up late at night to catch the end of ESPN’s Sportcenter may not be such a great thing for your health.  According to Yu Misao, MD, of the Misao Health Clinic in Gifu, Japan, the fewer hours of sleep that men get at night translate into a higher BMI, blood pressure, and triglyceride levels.  The solution to this sleeping problem trickles down to paying more attention to bed times and the general quality of sleep.

Brain Activity is Altered When Sleep is Deprived

The human brain, the most complex unit in the world, is severely affected when it is deprived of sleep.  When sleeping problems occur certain parts of the brain, such as the frontal lobe, performed less appropriately and saw more difficulties in functionality.  This statement shouldn’t be a big surprise to anyone because when lack of sleep is apparent, the body functions completely differently.
