Ambien Linked to Erratic Behavior: One More Reason to Use Natural Sleep Aids

Several studies have linked Zolpidem, the active ingredient in the world’s most popular prescription sleep aid Ambien, to driving impairment and erratic behavior.

In a report presented by the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, Zolpidem was listed as one of the top 20 drugs found in the systems of drivers charged with DUI. Drivers with this drug in their system were seen crashing into parked cars, stopping in the middle of intersections, stopping at green lights, and driving into oncoming traffic. Another study published in the Journal of Forensic Science also links Zolpidem to impaired driving. The drivers who combined Ambien with alcohol or other drugs showed slow movements, slow reaction times, slurred speech, lack of balance, and poor coordination. Ambien is dangerous even when taken alone: drivers who had only Ambien in their systems showed slow and slurred speech, disorientation, lack of balance and coordination and even reported “blacking out.”

These bizarre and even dangerous side effects should make any consumer wary of prescription sleep aids. More people than ever are trying natural sleep aids, so why not consider an audio sleep aid like Speed Sleep?
