Betting On A Good Night’s Sleep: How Quality Sleep Helps Gamblers Win

A good night’s sleep is the foundation you build your days upon, whether it is just another day at the office, a busy weekend, or a fun vacation that you want to make the most of; however, sleep problems make it impossible for your days to be up to their full potential.  After all, when you are sleep deprived you do not perform as well - you are not as focused, alert, or even as creative as you would have been if you had gotten proper rest the night before.  Now consider this: you are visiting Las Vegas and hitting the tables all night long, and drinking and going to shows and all that - imagine how this negatively impacts your gambling performance after only one night.

One of the (many) things that casinos take advantage of is how sleep deprivation affects your ability to evaluate risks and make good decisions; by encouraging guests to gamble at all hours of the night, using bright lights and a loud party atmosphere to keep drowsiness at bay, and even the fact that they never close can cause visitors to go from gambling masterminds to bleary-eyed fools.  Basically, the casinos are betting on the simple fact that sleep deprivation makes people stupid.

It’s a great bet.  Because the visitors in casinos are often drinking, gambling for extended periods of time, and forgoing sleep to gamble or party at the various bars and clubs (located conveniently adjacent to the casino floors themselves), the house is even more likely to win than usual.  Moreover, alcohol has a much stronger effect on the sleep deprived, so even if you only have a drink or two it will impair your ability to evaluate risks and make wise decisions.

Of course, no one goes to Vegas with sleep in mind - but if you plan carefully (and download Speed Sleep to help you make the most of your downtime) you can avoid the negative effects of sleep deprivation.
