Check out this independent study that was done by NBC News on Speed Sleep. They hook up a person to an electroencephalogram (EEG) which measures and records the electrical activity of your brain.
What is amazing from the study is that they show how in just 17 minutes the person had reached stage 2 which is ideal for a power nap. This was with a person who is listening to Speed Sleep for the very first time with wires hooked to their head!
Speed Sleep is designed to take you down quicker and deeper with repeated uses. So the results shown will only improve. Also they used the “Nap Track” which is intended to awaken you to an alert and motivated state (which you see happen in the study). There is a “Nightly Sleep Track” on the cd which they did not use that allows you to continue deeper to sleep and awaken naturally in the morning.
A great study showing that speed sleep works!

Sleep aids are becoming more and more prevalent in today’s worrisome economy. Loss of sleep from the increased amounts of stress related to one’s financial positioning and job security has sparked a sales spike for sleeping aids, specifically pills. Mostly unknown to the people who are taking the pills are the side effects and long-term damage that they are potentially causing to their bodies.

In American business practices, sleep is not a priority. It seems like for many business people, who take their work home with them and can’t lay down their Blackberry, sleep problems are the norm. Sleep is for the weak, right? You can sleep when you’re dead. But how much better would your business be doing if you were getting a proper amount of z’s?

How many times have you heard someone say “my best ideas occur in my sleep” or “I always come up with solutions to my problems after I sleep on them”? Clearly, there is a powerful connection between a good night’s sleep and creative abilities - and using sleep aids may actually suppress this kind of creativity by preventing the kind of deep natural sleep that Speed Sleep promotes.

“So it seems to be that practice alone does not quite make perfect; it’s practice with a night of sleep that makes perfect” says Matthew Walker, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley. “There is this odd notion that we all have in western society that we have to stay awake all the time in order to get more done. And I think that is simply not true. In fact, I think that if you get a good night’s sleep, you will find that you can get more done than if you simply stay awake.”

It it is a well known fact that a good night’s sleep can improve your memory; and conversely, suffering from sleep disorders can have a negative effect on your ability to learn and recall information. For instance, one sleep study of more than four hundred college students found that if they memorized a sequence of numbers immediately prior to getting a full night’s sleep, their performance was 20-30% better than those who memorized the same sequence but didn’t sleep directly afterwards. Gives a whole new perspective to the concept of cramming for exams, doesn’t it?

“Whatever the functions of sleep are, they seem to be so important that evolution is willing to put us in that place of potential danger by losing consciousness,” said Matthew Walker, a professor at University of California, Berkeley. Despite the best efforts of many top scientists, it has proven difficult to figure out what exactly it is about sleep that makes it so essential and worth the risk, in evolutionary terms.

We know that we eat to give our bodies energy, we drink to stay hydrated, and we procreate to continue our species. For a long time scientists believed we slept simply to rest our tired bodies, however, we are starting to understand that sleep serves a whole variety of purposes. While some reasons we need to sleep remain a mystery, we do know that sleep is an anabolic process - one that rebuilds, repairs, and restores our body’s energy supplies after a long day. As you might guess, lack of sleep due to sleep disorders or other sleep problems can have a severely negative effect on your overall health.
