What is the voice saying? Is there music? Subliminal messages?

Speed Sleep® uses NO subliminal messages. The principle behind Speed Sleep® is a proven scientific method of patterning or conditioned response studied and proven at the turn of the 20th century by Nobel Prize winning physiologist, Dr. Ivan Pavlov.

What is the difference between Track 1 (for napping) and Track 2 (for bedtime/nighttime use)?

Track One, The Daily Speed Sleep® Nap, accelerates the attainment of deep sleep in a short amount of time. The voice guides you down to deep sleep and wakes you back up after 25 minutes – the ideal length for a “power nap” according to recent NASA research. Track Two, The Nightly Speed Sleep® Accelerator, is intended to be almost identical to Track One except for the fundamental difference being that it does NOT awaken you after 25 minutes. It allows you to stay asleep and awaken naturally.

Do you have documented results or scientific studies on your product?

Speed Sleep® is based on a proven scientific method – perhaps the oldest and most studied method of behavioral change there is- “conditioned response” or “classical conditioning”. Conditioned response was discovered and proven 100 years ago by Nobel Prize winning physiologist, Dr. Ivan Pavlov. The most famous and well-known experiment of Dr. Pavlov is that he “conditioned” dogs to initiate a salivary response to the sound of a bell. He began by measuring the amount of salivation in response to only food. As the experiments continued, he rang a bell as he presented the food. Again he noted a salivary response. Finally, by only ringing the bell, Pavlov observed the same response as having presented food to the dogs – salivation. These experiments defined the scientific method of “conditioned response” that is the basis for almost all behavioral change.

And of course, conditioned response works in humans too. Why do you think our mouths water and our stomachs awaken when we see the “Golden Arches”? Or, remember the “blue light” specials at K-Mart? Remember what happened when the blue light would turn on? Cost-conscious shoppers would make a beeline to the blue light table because they associated good deals with the blue light (And, research proved that people were more likely to buy sale items under the blue light even if the item wasn’t a good value).

How does Speed Sleep® wake you up after 25 minutes – especially if you’re in a deep sleep?

The first track (The Daily Speed Sleep® Nap) is designed to bring you back up out of deep sleep after 25 minutes. But how? The subconscious mind can still hear the voice all the way to the end (even if your conscious mind is asleep-this works in the same way that a sleeping mother can still hear and be easily awakened by her crying baby – her subconscious mind is still “awake”). Speed Sleep® becomes even more and more effective each time you listen to it– more effective at taking you down and more effective at bringing you back up. Through repetition you develop a conditioned response or sleep pattern. Most avid users of Speed Sleep® report hearing only a short bit at the beginning and then awaken right at the end of the track (as the voice suggests they do). Through repetition, you will develop this pattern too.

Does it work gradually or start working immediately?

For some people, Speed Sleep® results in deep sleep the very first time they listen to it. But for most people, Speed Sleep® increases in effectiveness after repeated listenings. How? Speed Sleep® simply reacquaints you with your innate ability to go deeply to sleep quickly just as you had as a small child. It’s that simple. It does this through a guided visualization using a voice and background music with certain language patterns as the trigger to sleep. If you listen to Speed Sleep® repeatedly you will anchor this pattern and will be able to go deeply to sleep even without Speed Sleep®.

What is the difference in Speed Sleep® and other audio meditation techniques?

From a methodology standpoint, there is no difference in general between the terms: Meditation, Hypnosis, Self-Hypnosis, Visualization, Guided-Visualization or Trance. They are all words which describe a time when either ourselves or an external voice relaxes the focus of our conscious mind and we begin thinking at a subconscious level. What makes Speed Sleep® different from meditation techniques on others is that Speed Sleep® is a guided visualization using both voice and background music specifically designed to create patterns and skills to enhance deep sleep – not just relaxation. Speed Sleep® is built on the principle of conditioning and contains certain language patterns or triggers called “anchors” that with repeated listenings can be used at any time to trigger a state of deep sleep. Additionally, the first track (The Daily Speed Sleep® Nap) has been perfectly timed for the ideal nap length based on recent NASA research among pilots (25 minutes).

Do you have to listen with headphones or can it be played through speakers?

Either headphones or speakers are fine. The most important thing for listening to the Speed Sleep® is that you find a place where you can close your eyes, relax and listen without interruption in a reclined position in a chair, bed, couch or carpeted floor. Lots of people listen to Speed Sleep® on airplanes and therefore use headphones.

Does Speed Sleep® work for children? Is it safe for children?

In terms of age ranges, while Speed Sleep® was designed for adults, it is safe and appropriate for all ages. Other than that, we’ve had many customers tell us their kids and teens have used it and really benefited from learning the patterns and skills for achieving deep sleep quickly (including one child with severe Attention Deficit Disorder). The one caveat is if a child has not learned to spell yet, they may get confused or frustrated when they are asked to spell the word “RELAX” in their mind as part of the guided relaxation.

Are there side effects?

Actually there is one really positive “side effect” which is that you will learn a pattern and life-long skill that will help you go deeply to sleep quickly. In fact, we’ve found the more you listen, the more “skilled” you will become at achieving deep sleep quickly. Eventually, after repeated listenings, you will be able to guide yourself into a state of deep sleep without even listening. In other words, you will develop a pattern in your mind which allows you to achieve deep sleep “on-demand”.

I’ve heard strong-willed or fairly intelligent people are not easily hypnotized. Will this work for me?

First, let’s talk about hypnosis. It is a very “controversial” and misunderstood term because of “stage hypnosis”. Stage hypnosis fools people into “believing” someone can be controlled against their will. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE. Speed Sleep® uses both voice and music to relax you and take you down to a deep level of sleep. There are no “subliminal” words. You hear it all. There are hypnotic language patterns which should work especially well for someone who has the will (or desire) to improve their ability to achieve deep sleep. Further, research shows there’s a strong correlation between higher intelligence and the ability to be hypnotized.

How do you achieve the best results with Speed Sleep®?

While many of our customers get great results the first time they listen to Speed Sleep, we recommend listening to it repeatedly and consistently for the best results. In fact, the more you listen, the more quickly you’ll be able to achieve deep sleep.Many of our customers who listen to Speed Sleep frequently tell us they only consciously recall the first few minutes of the CD given how quickly they fall asleep. After a while they don’t even need the CD. They just close their eyes, start the process on their own and in minutes they are deep asleep.

Others are looking for the benefits of a quick power nap so that they can stay up late into the night (they tell us it is their “Party Nap”). It is most effective just after lunch when that drowsy feeling hits or at about 6:00 p.m. at the end a work or school day to reenergize for the night.

Does this involve hypnosis?

Beliefs run strong in people. Hypnotism has a quite negative “belief” amongst many, many people. The biggest reason people are afraid of it or do not believe in it is from Stage Shows that fool people into “believing” someone can be controlled against their will. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE.

I would be willing to bet that you (and your friend) have been in a hypnotic trance before. It is like when you drove your car along a route you have driven MANY times before. When you get there you stop and think, “I don’t remember portions of driving here. I was busy thinking of other things while I was driving.” You were in a trance. You hypnotized yourself. There was a feeling of a skip in time. Your subconscious mind drove the car for you.

Speed Sleep® is a guided relaxation using both voice and background music. You could also call it a guided meditation or guided visualization.
